Who We Are

We are Michael and Carrie Beaton!

We met in 2000, when Carrie was working as a teller at a bank inside the grocery store that Michael worked at. Each day, Michael would stop by the bank to get $5 out of his account for lunch (yes, lunch only cost $5 way back then!) Little did Carrie know, that he was coming by each day just to see her. She was so clueless, she even suggested to him that he just get $30 and that would last him all week! 

After a few months, Michael finally won Carrie over and the rest is history.

We got married 2 years after we met and made an instant family with Michael's daughter Aimee. 

A few years later we had our first son Andrew, and 2 years after that, our second son, Mitchell. 

Fast forward a few years and now all of our children are adults. We have gained a son-in-law and 3 beautiful grandkids! 

With this, brought the freedom for us to focus on ourselves and what the next season of our life will look like. 

Enter Scottish Heavy Athletics!

Scottish Heavy Athletics is something that we do together. It helps give us a reason to stay fit and strong as we get older and gives us the opportunity to travel to places we never would have. The unexpected benefit we found is all of the amazing, funny, unique, kind-hearted people that we have met along the way! Each game we attend our Highland family gets bigger and our hearts fuller!
